Roseola............

Well this past week has presented itself with some challenges. Nicholas has been sooo sick and we just had no clue what was going on. On Monday he woke up from his afternoon nap and had a temp of 103.2 which of course caused concern for Ken and I. But of course as the mother, to put it mildly,I was in freak out mode. We then took the necessary precautions, cold rag on forehead, fed him a cooler bottle than normal, administered tylenol, called dr. After my conversation with the nurse she advised me to get him on infants motrin, which we did but soon after he started breaking out in a rosy red rash on his cheeks. The nurse thought it was fifth disease and said there was nothing they could do and it would have to run its course. 2 Days later he broke out into another rash, this one was all over his neck, trunk of his body and came soon after his fever broke. Let me just tell you how hard it is to take care of twins, especially when one is sick. The only way I could console Nicholas was to hold him and even when holding him he would just cry the most pitiful cry I have ever heard, he obviously was not feeling the greatest. Once the rash came, also crying 24/7 came as well. He just screamed and by Friday morning...Ken and I had it. Took him into the dr and he was diagnosed with Roseola of which is contagious and we are keeping our fingers crossed that lil' Nate does not get it. So the doctor said his throat was inflamed and that was probably causing him discomfort, so needless to say Tylenol and Infants Motrin....here we come again. His rash looks better today and he feels a bit better but still is crying alot. Here are a few pictures that I took. Hopefully this will help someone else out in the future because we never had heard of fifth disease nor roseola. So we are marching on in hopes that every hour and day will get better for Mr. Nicholas :)
